Stronger Together
It has been over a year now since COVID emergency measures began in Canada. We are now well into the pandemic and are still adjusting to lockdowns and social distancing measures which have had a serious impact on the way we live our daily lives. These measures have put a strain on the mental health of many Canadians, cases of domestic abuse have risen substantially and many have lost income, requiring support from non-profit organizations, charities and food banks.
Locals Helping Locals
C6.ca strongly believes in “locals helping locals”, reaching out to assist those in need through various fundraising and donation initiatives. It is with great pleasure we have been able to make a donation of over 40 cases of essential cleaning supplies to both Community Care and Gillian’s Place.
Community Care
Community Care has been helping those facing hardships for 100 years within St. Catharines and 35 years in Thorold. Through 21 programs, approximately 1,850 households are assisted monthly, including access to food security, community gardens, clothing & household goods, access to housing supports & stability, trusteeships, ID, utility, medical and dental assistance, back to school and Christmas programs. 5,000 pounds of food is distributed daily. Almost 40% of who Community Care serves are children. Their organization has never needed support from the community as much as they do right now.

Gillian’s Place
Gillian’s Place protects vulnerable mothers and children from domestic violence by providing safety, shelter, and support programs & services. These services include safety planning, legal support, transitional support, and even emergency transportation. All women and children deserve to live in a safe, just, and secure environment.
